  • Cooling and fuel systems, including the radiator, fuel pump, and injectors
  • Electrical and convenience systems, from control modules and starters to power windows and door locks

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Vehicle Service Protection from Allstate®?Allstate® Vehicle Service Protection is an extended coverage plan that protects your vehicle beyond the factory warranty. It helps pay for costly mechanical and electrical breakdowns, covering both parts and labor. You can choose from three levels of protection--Premier Care, Preferred Care, and Basic Care—based on your needs, driving habits, and budget.

When does my Allstate® Vehicle Protection Plan start?

Your Allstate® Vehicle Protection Plan begins on the date you purchase the plan, regardless of the vehicle’s age or mileage. From that date forward, the length of your coverage is determined by a combination of time (years) and mileage, depending on which plan type applies:

1. TOTAL MILEAGE PLAN
  • The mileage limit is based on the vehicle’s total mileage, including miles already on the odometer at the time of purchase.
  • Example: If you select a 7-year/100,000-mile plan and your vehicle currently has 10,000 miles, coverage will last 7 years from the plan purchase date or until the odometer reaches 100,000 total miles—whichever comes first.

2. ADDITIVE MILEAGE PLAN
  • The mileage limit is calculated by adding the plan’s mileage to your vehicle’s current odometer reading at the time of purchase.
  • Example: If your vehicle has 40,000 miles and you purchase a 5-year/60,000-mile plan, coverage will last 5 years from the plan purchase date or until the vehicle reaches 100,000 miles—whichever comes first.

KEY POINTS:
  • Time (years) always starts from the date you buy the plan.
  • The only difference between plan types is how mileage is calculated—coverage benefits remain the same.
  • If both plan types are available at the time of purchase, you can choose the option that offers the best value or longest coverage based on your vehicle’s age, mileage, and ownership plans. Eligibility is determined by your vehicle’s model year and current mileage.

Why does Steingold Volvo Cars offer Allstate® Vehicle Protection Plans?

Steingold Volvo Cars in Pawtucket, Rhode Island is a trusted, nationally recognized dealership with a reputation for exceptional service and value. Through their e-commerce platform, FactoryProtect.com, Steingold offers Allstate® Vehicle Service Contracts and Road Hazard Tire & Wheel Protection to customers nationwide at competitive online pricing.

Can anyone in the U.S. purchase an Allstate® Protection Plan from FactoryProtect.com?

Allstate® Vehicle Protection Plans are available in 48 states. Due to regulatory restrictions, coverage is NOT AVAILABLE for vehicles garaged, registered, or primarily operated in California or Florida. Residents of these states should consult a local Allstate agent for other available options.

What vehicles are eligible for coverage?

Most personal-use vehicles—such as cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans—are eligible. Coverage eligibility is based on the vehicle’s year, mileage, and usage history. Exclusions may apply for salvage/rebuilt titles, commercial vehicles, exotic/high-performance cars, or heavily modified vehicles. Always review the sample contract for full details.

Why don’t I see all coverage options for my vehicle?

Our system only displays plans your vehicle qualifies for, based on the VIN, mileage, and other underwriting factors. If certain plans aren’t shown, it likely means your vehicle has exceeded the eligibility criteria for those specific terms.

What is Allstate® Tire & Wheel Protection?

Allstate’s Road Hazard Tire & Wheel Protection covers the repair or replacement cost of tires and wheels damaged by road hazards such as potholes, nails, broken glass, or debris. Coverage includes mounting, balancing, valve stems, taxes, and towing (if related to a covered repair). You can also upgrade to include cosmetic wheel repair, which restores curb-rashed wheels to like-new appearance.

How do I pay for my Allstate Protection Plan?

You can purchase your plan securely online through FactoryProtect.com using any major credit card. All payments are processed with industry-standard encryption to ensure your privacy and security. A receipt and confirmation will be emailed to you immediately after purchase.

How do I file a repair claim?

You can bring your vehicle to any licensed repair facility in the United States or Canada. Provide them with your Allstate contract, and they will contact Allstate for claim approval before beginning any repairs. Once authorized, Allstate pays the repair shop directly via phone with a credit card. Full claim instructions are included in your contract.

Can I cancel my plan if I change my mind?

Yes. All Allstate® plans come with a 30-day Free Look Period. If you cancel within the first 30 days and haven’t filed a claim, you’ll receive a 100% refund. After 30 days—or if a claim has been filed—you may still qualify for a prorated refund based on time and mileage used.

Will I receive confirmation after placing my order?

Yes. Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation page and an email containing your receipt and a digital copy of your contract. You can also access and download your plan details anytime from your online account. Be sure to review your documents and keep them in a safe place.

FactoryProtect.com® uses the terms ‘Warranty’ and ‘Extended Warranty’ with ‘Vehicle Service Contract’ and ‘Extended Service Contract’ for marketing purposes only. A Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) is often referred to as an “auto warranty” or an “extended car warranty,” but it is not a warranty. A VSC does, however, provide repair coverage for your vehicle after the manufacturer’s car warranty expires. A VSC is a contract between you and a VSC provider or administrator that states what is a covered repair and what is not. Not all vehicles qualify for coverage; FactoryProtect.com® does not offer VSCs in California or Florida. FactoryProtect.com® is a website developed for marketing and informational purposes only. FactoryProtect.com® does not process or sell VSCs directly, as all VSCs offered on FactoryProtect.com® are processed through our Selling Dealer.
